Celebrating Dos Point Cinco

Yesterday we celebrated a belated dos point cinco years together.  In the midst of Labor Day weekend, traveling to Chicago, trying to catch up on lost sleep, and making it through my third week of teaching, we both completely forgot about our big day on Wednesday.  Oops.  But we made up for it big time with a trip to the uniform store, lunch (and a Bloody Mary) at Mortimer’s, a lazy movie afternoon, and a night to Enso and Mez.

The uniform store was Ryan’s least favorite part of the day, but his patience with watching me frantically try on 7 different knee length pleated skirts, sweater vests, and other super unattractive clothing items is one of the many reasons that I love him.

And also I love him for convincing Rex to try a strawberry smoothie this morning.  “Go ahead, Rex.  It’s all natural.  You could pick it straight off the vine.”  This afternoon, Rex dry heaved for about 15 minutes.  I’m not sure if the two events are related.

We are lucky.

Few & Far

...between.  But still happy.  Very happy.  And life is easy.  I could even make a list of all the easies that are happening.  And of course we are doing exciting things.  Still.  I want to remember all of them.  And I want you to know.  So I’ll be back.  This weekend?  But here’s some proof that we are alive.  And well.  And breathing.  With smiles (in Wisconsin!) so big that you can see all of our teeths.

[See, Mom.]
